Welcome

Associate Professor (Ph.D. Columbia University, 1991)
Reflection and refraction seismology. Deciphering the behavior of stressed continental crust from the sedimentary record in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans

Bienvenidos

juan@geol.lsu.edu

I study the tectonics of continental margins using shallow-earth seismology

Research

       Investigaci6n

My undergraduate and graduate students use an industry-funded Subsurface Workstation Laboratory and a Seismology Instrument Lab.   These labs  contain field equipment, Linux workstations with commercial seismic processing and inter-pretation software to analyze, gravity, well, and 2D and 3D seismic data sets.
