I apply seismology to understand the causes of (1) shallow faulting along passive margins and (2) artificial levee failures (3) microseismicity attending hydraulic fracturing.

My undergraduate and graduate students  use a Subsurface Laboratory, a Field Seismology Instrument Lab and an indoor elastic seismic modeling tank to collect, analyze, gravity, well, and 2D and 3D seismic data sets.
