- Seminar in Himalayan Tectonics
I explore plate tectonics and the evolution of the continental crust by solving regional tectonic problems. My principal tools are field mapping and structural geology, and I acquire data via other methods to resolve structural questions. My previous research has focused on testing and developing models for the construction of the Himalaya. My students and I are furthering this research, collaborating with researchers at Universität Freiberg to investigate crustal flow along the eastern margin of Tibet, and developing new projects in the western USA.
