F-K Filter

1) Copy the flow as in previous labs.

2) Open the parameter box for the functions in the flow and set the appropriate parameters.

3) When the parameters are set, click Execute (MB2).

4) The F-K analysis window will appear displaying offset vs. time and wavenumber vs. frequency::

5) The polygon you see in the wavenumber vs. frequency plot defines the boundaries of the filter. You have the option to use this filter to allow data within to pass, rejecting all data outside the polygon, or to reject data within the polygon, allowing everything else to pass. This is done by clicking on Filter Response/parameters in the menu bar at the top of the window. The boundaries of the polygon can be adjusted by clicking on the edit polygon icon (last icon in the column on the left-hand side of the window). MB1 add points, MB2 deletes points, and MB3 moves points.

6) The velocity icon (dx/dt icon in the column) displays a line through the curser and gives the velocity of that line, shown at the bottom of the screen.

7) Once a filter has been defined, click Filter Response/filtered output from the menu bar at the top of the window. This will bring up a window with filtered offset vs. time and the filter polygon used:

Closing this window will bring you back to the F-K analysis window, where the filter can be refined further.
