Chlorite - Similar to biotite, the Maine data set was used to define chlorite mineral chemistry as a function of metamorphic grade in one of the first systematic studies of chlorite in metapelites. Electron microprobe and TEM studies of chlorites (and berthierines) were also done in sedimentary red beds from Virginia to establish conditions of diagenesis on these enigmatic red beds.
