CAUVERY DELTA

VIBROCORE STATION # 1

The vibrocore was taken into Vellar sand spit deposits at the delta front.  The total core length recovered was 42 inches.  The predominant lithology was sand and the core was slightly disturbed in the upper 15 inches of the section perhaps due to excessive pushing during penetration.  Gastropoda are present.
