What We Do

Spelosophize:

The practice of exploring caves in order to sit in them and to speculate or theorize about fundamental or serious issues, especially the meaning of life. Portmanteau of "spelunking" and "philosophy."

We co-sponsor a new talk series- Geology and Geophysics LATTE - that gives students and professors a chance to practice/talk about their upcoming research and techniques.  We are giving a talk on September 3 @ 11AM. Come see us!!

Feild Trips!!! There is not much karst (and a total of 3 caves) in Louisiana.  We are currently in the planning stage of several field trips for this fall.

OUR CURRENT ACTIVITIES

We are also co-sponsoring the Geology and Geophysics Rock Star Lagniappe Poster Competition for Earth Science Week. We have a few things up our sleeves for Earth Science Week, so stay tuned!!
