SHORT BIO
I started exploring caves when I was 12 years old at Carter Caves State Resort Park, Carter County, Kentucky. Since that time I have pursued geological and biological karst studies.
Currently, I am an Assistant Professor of Geomicrobiology, with a joint appointment between the Dept. Geology & Geophysics and Dept. Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University.
I'm also active with the Karst Waters Institute, a 501c3, and the National Speleological Society, which publishes the Journal of Cave and Karst Studies.
